Is that a wheel center cap ? Looks great ...

Say that looks pretty sharp on there! But as an old safety engineer got to warn you. If your steering wheel air bag ever deploys, that emblem will be coming at your face like a puck at sub-light speed!! Just wear a hockey mask and no problems. CalStang

Every time some one puts an emblem on their steering wheel this is brought up. However some member here on the forum posted these pictures , I don't remember who it was , and I don't see it being much different than the OEM emblem ...

When the airbag blows it is designed to split in a semicircle along the left side of the emblem with the emblem still attached.

Yes I sacrificed a wheel cap! I cut away the prongs on the back so that it is flat then trimmed out the ribs on the airbag cover and it sits nice and flush, plus the cap has the nice chrome ring that matches the design of the a/c vents.

I would have replaced the emblem with a factory one if Ford made them available separately. It sucks the paint peels and flakes from those dang things.

Interesting idea. I should have read this thread before I swapped out my steering wheel yesterday and had the airbag off the wheel.

I like it when people think outside the box. :nice:
