I just did this install today, finally....

We'll see how good this Auto Moleskin stuff holds up under the Phoenix summer heat.

Bill thanks for the write up. You saved me $100 per door from the tint guy. I installed it this past weekend and your instructions were perfect. Thanks again!

Thanks for the write-up Bill. Dropping my car off tomorrow and the guy wanted 30/door for felt. This way I'll get a better product and save $25.

Thanks again,
Jason

Shouldn't be a problem. I've had the moleskin on both my cars for around two months and not even a hint of a scratch.....

Shouldn't be a problem. My Velcro felt started drooping from my SoCal warm heat!
I'm sure the Moleskin will hold up better.

Moleskin came loose when car was left out in the Missouri sun. Now going with 07 factory strips.

How long the Moleskin sticks will largely depend on how well you prep the wiper channel. Apply as instructed, don't touch the bonding surface (oil from your skin), and you should be fine.

Why hide it
Because the sun will fade it quicker than you can say "Crimsom Red"

I just replaced my factory wipers w/ moleskin for some '08 wipers. I had the moleskin for about a year when the driver side started go develop some sticky goo on it. Fortunately this was taken care of when someone knocked the window out and helped themselves to my radar detector. Anyway, once I had removed the factory wipers and inspected them they didn't seem to be coming loose. Rather, it appeared that a spot had been worn through the moleskin and the goo was coming through it, which was rather surprising.

Hi Willie,
Who did your tint? I have the moleskin kit and scratched side windows since about after a week I got them tinted in 2005. Just been waiting to have them redone. Rear and back windows are fine.
Thanks.

Hey man, I did this mod like a year ago when I got my car tinted, now I'm noticing glue marks on the center of both my front windows. Do you think I should take the moleskin off or check to see if it slipped and is allowing the glue to rub on the very center of the window all the way to the top? Thanks

Sorry guys, I've read a lot and still don't feel like I have a definite answer. I have an 08, I'm going to do tint soon. Do I need to do this mod or am I ok, because of some change for 08?

Yes you need moleskin...all mustangs 05-08 even the 09's need moleskin, otherwise your tint will scratch and look like $hit.
