NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH THE OE RETROFIT KIT I AM PUTTING TOGETHER! THIS GENUINE FORD ACCESSORY KIT IS SIMILAR TO THE 2008 AMBIENT LIGHTING OPTION AS IN THE 2008 MUSTANG. THE KEY DIFFERENCE IS YOU MUST DRILL A HOLE FOR A ROUND SWITCH IN YOUR EXISTING CONSOLE. THE KIT USES ONE LED IN THE FRONT CUPHOLDER VS THE RING IN THE FACTORY SETUP. THE FACTORY HAS FOUR FOOTWELL LAMPS FRONT AND BACK AND THE ACCESSORY KIT USES TWO IN THE FRONT ONLY. I HAVE ONE ON THE WAY FOR EVALUATION AND WILL POST WHEN I RECIEVE. THIS WILL WORK ON OTHER FORD PRODUCTS AS WELL.

What is this kit like? Did you get it installed yet?

I am interested in retrofitting my 06 GT convertible with this option.
Is it possible to replace the center console in my 06 with the 08 version that has the cupholder rings and the button?
Is it possible to make the Ford ambient lighting kit work with the 08 center console?

Does this work in 2005-2007 cars? Ford Accessory website says 2008 only. I would also like to know if it would work with the factory ambient light console since I like the cupholder and square button better.

any luck on the evalutaion? i'm interested in this kit. thanks!

Installed this kit 2 weeks ago. The install was very easy. It doesn't have lights for the back, but I never look back there anyway. The factory one is nicer with the cupholder ring but this one is ok.

You have a choice of 7 colors and off. Here are pics of Green, Red, and Blue.

Oh yeah, the avic d3 can match any of the color choices.
