I doubt it is the processor. Those things are built pretty well.

You checked to see if there is power in the wires to pins 2 and 6?

Saw your edit.

What about all the pins on the module itself?

Just looking over my diagrams to see if a short somewhere else could be an issue.

Tried on the module too actually, checked over every connector, and every pin. I'll leave it alone for now, blue looks nice. The button was cheap enough from a local ford dealer, and it should be here in a couple days. If that doesn't fix it, I'll have to order a processor online, the dealer wanted stupid amounts of money for it.

Thanks for all your help on this, by the way

Yes, Canadian dealers charge 4x what they do in the States. I learned that long ago.

I am convinced it is not the processor, but keep us posted.

If I get any other ideas, I'll let you know. Do you have the wiring diagrams?

I have the wiring diagram book for the 2009 mustang and 2005. I'll see if I can scan it at work when no one is looking.

Thanks, if it's going to be too much hassle to scan it, don't worry about it

I'm bumping this thread again.

I'm getting PMs about this again, so it may be useful to have this thread easier to find.

Been a long time since I did this mod ...

I finally, after looking at it in the corner of the garage, decided to install my ambient console into my 07. I got some ambient light harnesses with the caps out of an 11 Flex. I wired them into the harness. I now have the original back 2 LED lights and added 2 to the front. One on each side of the shifter. I also added the 3rd one into the console compartment. You can't see anything in there, so it is a big improvement. All in all, a nice addition, and with the LED's in the console front, instead of under the dash. Worked out excellent and everything works just like original. Great upgrade.

It has been brought to my attention that the wiring diagram I posted in post #92 is for heated seats (Which I did retrofit, by the way), but this thread is for the ambient lighting.

My apologies. Here is the ambient lighting diagram:

Any pics of the setup? Thanks!

I took a video of it working on the bench, before I installed it. Here are a couple pics of it and it's lights, I didn't have a clear picture I could copy from the inside the console, but it is the same light as either of the fronts. Hope it helps you.

I'm just curious, but what makes this $200 better than the Ford Ambient Lighting Kit?

I'm looking to do something like this in the near future. Pros and cons from those that have ventured down this path would be appreciated!

I suppose it is a matter of opinion, but I like the inset OEM switch and the figure 8 light in the cupholder. I'm sure you can get all the needed stuff now pretty cheap from the wreckers.
