Hello I have a 2009 mustang with the shaker 500 system and im looking to install a backup camera.. To do so, i would most likely need to replace the head unit too right? ( i saw that AM has a rear view mirror with a backup camera but without any reviews and no idea about the install im going to shy away from it).. Has anyone done this or have any recommendations?

 

Go to Crutchfield.com and do some research, they're pretty informative. I usually find something I want there and buy it on Amazon for a cheaper price.

Great question; I am not sure if you noticed Raxiom's Navigation and Backup Camera setup for the 11+ but if you did, I have some good news .

I heard from our friends at Raxiom that an extremely similar kit will be dropping very shortly for the 05-09 cars!

The kit will include a Touchscreen Navigation, Backup Camera, etc and I think you will love it.

I may go for the Raxiom I did remove my trunk lock & put a camera in that worked off my head unit , but I do not really like the back up camera idea completely screws me up , I've always been aware what's around me all the time & if I can't be aware time to stop driving I figure.

I understand that was an issue with the one made for the newer model mustang.

Also, will this unit work with the Shaker 1000? I've always wanted a factory nav system but the OEM 2008 Ford Nav System is technically a Shaker 500 so it won't push the Shaker 1000...

Amwill, does Raxiom have a unit that will work with stereos that have the multi disc changer? I heard the current one will not.
