Audio Help

Need some help in the audio department. I installed a Kenwood DNX7100 HU and although the sound did improve over my Shaker 500 theres still not enough treble! I just ordered a pair of Infinity Kappas 6"X8" to try. My question is should I put them in my doors or in the rear deck? Crutchfield says they should go in the deck what do you guys think I should do?
Thanks in advance
Chip

If they'll fit in the doors, then that's the place to put them. They're closer to your ears, and you want your soundstage coming from the front. This is especially true if you're looking at speakers for the benefit of treble.

You picked the right ones for more treble, but your better option would have been additional power. Those Infinity's have VERY shrill highs, but they can get loud. You'll still need more power to do it.

Oh, yeah, set the highpass from your head unit to about 160, and run from there down to the front subwoofer. It should make for a pretty smooth transition and still sound good.

The infinity's do fit in the front, you just have to bend some plastic to make them work. It's really nothing major as you don't see it with the door cover on. As far as cructhfeild, use coupon code 3a706 for an additional 20 off.

Also, infinity is correct, the highs are extremely high, but I find them clear. Also, last years models are 4-ohm, the new ones are 2-ohm which may cause issues with your indash stereo idk.

As far as location. Front door- enough said. You want your imaging to sound like the "concert" is right in front of you.

Just realized I repeated the same thing 05gt-O.C.D. said :)

It's just some tabs that were used to center the factory drivers for quick install on the assembly line. No biggie, and it'll make complete sense when you get inside the door for your install. I used some pliers and a utility knife and just took the tabs completely off. It's a 5 minute job at most.
