Got my car tinted today and was afraid the dot matix would look white in that area if tinted. Tint guy said it would turn out not as good as the rest of the car. Has anyone got the front top few inches tinted and is it solid black from the outside or does it look like bubbles are in that area?

Thanks Scott.

I choose not to because the windshield is so small to begin with, I have seen others on here who have it though...looks good, not sure about the matrix though...PLUS you would loose your running pony......hmmmm

Small??? The windshield looks huge to me for some reason. Looks much larger than my 99GT. I dunno....maybe it's just me.

What I mean is when I am sitting in it, the windshield looks short to me, not in lenghth but the heighth seems short, I am 5"7 and dont sit that low in the seat, but it is very condensed to me. If I had a windshield banner, I think it would bother me.....JMO! I have fuzzy dice that was hanging on the mirror, and because the windshield it short, it impeared my vision, so I had to take them down while driving. .....

I have mine tinted and it looks perfect. Does a lot to keep the sun out of your eyes when your driving towards it.

Did mine too. Make sure the height is correct for you and you are not looking at a line or ducking to look under it. Looks great on the Mustang. Like s--- on the Explorer because it is not the same width all the way across.

if your worried about the dots showing through you would always use black vinyl on the outside of the windshield , just a thought

got mine done and love it. It doesnt do that odd look like the 98s I would know because I had my 98 rear window done with the dot matrix.

Those look good, but I like my pony better.

I can't even see the pony from the outside looking in. I may check into the tint strip. Here in Arizona we need all the protection from the sun we can get.

I've never been one for any writing on my car but I'm seriously considering putting this across the top of the winshield.
(going with green to match my future stripes)

I've seen that before on a 70's model Vette in Birmingham, AL. It was all white with ground effects, wings, supercharger, pretty much the works. It looked pretty cool, especially flying up behind me with that written on it so I could read it in the rear view. Pretty cool.

These days, people won't get over, no matter how much I flash the lights. Pretty much just give up and go around the right side.

Here's a pic of my tint strip:

It's sealed around the dots pretty well, but can't really see the pony anymore. On bright days, it's really nice, though.
