Any fixes for peeling stereo buttons?

Marcy totaled her 06 a few months back and bought a used 05 last week. The shaker buttons have that peeling problem. Ive seen years back where people found some sort of material to re cover the buttons. Anyone done this or have a idea where or what to get to dress them back up?

You will not believe what I happened across just yesterday...

http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/...-Mustang-05-06

I bought a whole radio a couple of years ago for this problem. I haven't swapped it out yet, but when I do, the old one is gettin' new buttons too, just to have it spare.

/I could not believe my eyes last night, serious.

Wow!!! Dude you rock. great find. Thats perfect and what she needs. She was bummin at the look of the white plastic thats left after she peels the peels. I know this has happened to bunch of people. My buttons are still perfect but I dont use them much, but I imagine in time mine will go bad too. Thanks for posting that

More than welcome! Mine are all chewed up too, I was astounted to find them. They also have them for the 07-09s, which have a slightly different look or something.

The difference is in the #6 button and the center "scan" button. Otherwise, there are no other physical differences in the buttons.

Nope. Never. I only have the peeling issue on the buttons I use very frequently...the back arrow, up arrow, and menu button.

Hmm. I know Armor All will degrade the coatings on interior plastics. Usually some type of protectant or cleaner is the culprit. That's odd that you don't wipe it down with anything and still peeled up.

Have you thought about something like this?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-CD6-MP3-FACE-PLATE-for-FORD-radios-like-Mustang-Taurus-F-150-OEM-original-/111315339973?pt=Car_Audio_Video&hash=item19eae94ac5&vxp=mtr

There's probably not a lot of bidders so you could likely get it at the starting bid price.

Is that for 05-09?
Looks like the face from my dead 04 Mach.

I bought a shaker faceplate on ebay for like $25 I think... It even came with the circuit board... I replaced my shaker 500 face plate for the shaker 1000 cause that didnt matter to me. All of the buttons are new and it looks awesome
