I ordered an accessory rear-view mirror from KC awhile back - has temp, direction, and homelink and is sold by Ford. It's been kicking around on my workbench because I haven't found the time or kahunas to install it myself. So this am I called my Ford Dealer Service Dept to make an appointment to get it installed and guess what?: "We can't install that for you".
WTH? I don't get it. So, I'll call a non-Ford shop and have them do it, but I'm just baffled a dealer service dept would turn down the work. :bang: |
I don't see why they would turn down work, especially a dealership. I had a Goodyear shop say they couldn't mount and balance my Goodyear tires because they didn't have the equipment to do an 18" rim. I think, because I didn't buy the tires from them, they didn't want to hassle with something that they couldn't put a big markup on.

I have no idea why this is in the car care section. Moving it to interior mods

Ive never seen a machine that couldnt do 18's. Unless it was the old style machine which is for steel wheels only. But I know thats not what they use. |
Seriously, they even came up on the Hunter GSP9700 location search.

I worked at Discount Tire Company for 3 yrs...usually this is true, they won't mount your tires (or definitely won't want to) if you didn't purchase the tires from them. And, typically even the oldest of mounting machines are capable of mounting 18" tires. Any goodyear shop should have equipment capable of mounting 20's, let alone 18's.

I had Sears mount, balance, and install my 18s when I got them... And I didn't buy anything except valvestems from them. :dunno:
