08 Mustang Aux Line In

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the 08 Mustang Aux Line In that is located in the center console? I am trying to figure out which pins I need to tap into for installing a new HU and retaining the Line In capability.

Thanks,

See if this helps. If not let me know. I can get you any wiring diagram or a page from the Ford Manual.

Great Info

Hey sorry for the delay and the new username I am posting under. I had pw issues and attempting a reset doesnt seem to work out to well, the e-mail comes many hours later.

Anyways, thanks for Randy for the excellent info. The diagram worked perfect and I have it up and operational with an aftermarket HU.

Also, thanks to Infinity for the guidance in where to post my request.

You all have a wonderful holiday.

Deric,

What I did was use a 3.5mm to RCA stereo cable. I cut the RCA cables off, stripped it back, and connected the shileding to the corresponding right/left negative side and the main line to the corresponding right/left positive side. then I connected the 3.5mm into my aftermarket HU. The other side of course taps into the main aux in female connector already in the vehicle. I am not sure on the differences between my application and the 06 though.

If you need further explanation, let me know.

Thanks,

Spyder

I'm going to piggy-back on this thread: I am looking for a solution to adding an auxiliary jack to my 05 GT. First, I have replaced my head unit with a 2008 Shaker 500, so the radio is capable of receiving the audio input, I only need the jack and the wiring.

While I am an accountant, not an electrician, I do understand some very basic wiring concepts and have spliced other mods into my Mustang (such as the one-touch rear window control). Even with this basic knowledge, I am hoping someone here can provide specific instructions on how to splice a standard female stereo jack into the wiring harness for the Shaker 500. I have the following diagrams but can't figure out how the two fit together. (the audio in diagram is from the second post in this thread)

Another thing, do I need shielded wire for this modification? If yes, suggestions on what to use.
