Rear Bumper R/R------- S-197 05-09 Oem Bumper Part Numbers

I'm probably asking a dumb question, but I need to know before I buy. I am looking to dual out the exhaust on my 2008 V6 and I am wondering if I can use the bumper cover from a GT (that has the cutouts for dual exhaust) or is there a better option ?

Welcome,

We Have Been Doing Bumper Conversions Since Pretty Much The Cars Came Out in 05. You Can Simply Cut Out a Section On Your Existing Bumper Mimicing The Other Side or as Far as Factory Options You Can Use GT, GT/CS or Gt-500 Covers Not To Mention Any Aftermarket. See Some Examples in The Exterior Mod STICKY Section! Front is a Bit More Complicated But Rear is Easy Peazy!

The Gt/Cs Accessory Cover Was The Way To Go Back in The Day as it Was Cheap!

These Days You Can Find Cheap Aftermarket Covers on Ebay!

2005-2009 All Interchange!

You can most certainly use the bumper covers from 05-09 GT, GT/CS, GT500, 2007-08 Shelby GT and 2008-09 Bullitt editions... They can also be located in the used market, such as Facebook marketplace, E-bay, Craig's list, salvage yards and you may also consider the marketplace subforums located in our Mustang Community forums section as well... Otherwise, you might also consider aftermarket vendors such as American Muscle... In the meantime, if interested, I've attached weblinks below for both our marketplace subforum section and for American Muscle... Meanwhile, welcome aboard...

Sorry My Friend But That is Incorrect on The Used Only. But Good Tips For Hunting Used & Aftermarket Parts None The Less!

While The {GT/CS Genuine Ford Bumper Accessory Kits} Are No Longer Serviced and Were More Price Friendly, Ford Still Supplies the Service Bumpers.

Now It Does Seem To Me Last Time I Checked on Oem Covers and That Was During Covid That There Were Not all Those Covers Available At The Time But I Thought One or Two Still Were. So I Went Ahead & Checked, I Was Surprized That The Selection Was Good This Time Around! We Had Lots of Supply Chain Issues Back Then! Although RARE I Have Seen FORD Drop Parts & Reinstate At Times. The Covid Mess was Unlike Any Other Parts Supply Issue I Dealt With in my 30+ Years at Ford! Pretty Sure They Dropped Some During That Period. Quite Surprized To See Current Selection!

Perhaps Also I Was Not Clear on the Cheap Aftermarket Covers on Ebay. I Was Referring To Reproduction Covers Made By Aftermarket For Bodyshop Repair and Being Copies of Oem Design. Historically Quite a Bit Cheaper. I Was Thinking OP Might Ask Some Questions After My Post & Would Clarify any Answers on My Initial Post But That Did Not Occur.

Also If a Customer Were To Go to a Local Body Shop For The Cover Painting They get The Aftermarket Covers Usually on Their Older Car Repair Jobs Unless Cutomer Requests OEM If Available. So Unless Your Painting Your Cover Yourself it Would Not Hurt To Simply Request an Estimate For Whichever Cover You Wanted Painted In One Stop.

One Thing On The Non Base Model Rear Covers is They Have an Addtional Little Bracket Dead Center Bottom on Cover Which Simply is Attached with One Push Pin. V6 Cars May or May Not Have The Hole. If Not After install It Pretty Much Gives You a Guide Where The Hole Would Need To Be Drilled.

Be Advised {Service Part} is Available For Order at Any Dealer! {Crash Parts} are Part of a Truckload Order a Dealer Must Subscribe To So Locally Sometimes They May Not Offer the Crash Part, Part Number.{ LAST 2 Letters of Part Number will be CP} Parts Giant Seems To Be a Truckload Supplier. {On a Side Note These PARTS GIANT Parts Come From Sanderson Ford in Arizona} I Would However Be Curious What Shipping Charges Would Be on Listed Covers.

Back In The Day I Actually Drop Shipped The Covers Direct From FORD on My Conversion Orders. It Was The Most Cost Effective Way To Do It at The Time. Anyhoo That Was a Lifetime Ago!

After All This OP Probably Took My First Suggestion & Cut Out Other Side of Bumper For Exhaust Tip!

Thanks for setting the record straight on Ford continuing to supply OEM service bumpers... So, if I understand correctly, I can still order an OEM replacement rear bumper cover directly from Ford?
