opinions.. up down or left

found what I think are some cool emblems and want to spice up the fenders. they remind me of the ferrari fender badges. im leaning towards left of the GT or above

Hahahaha! That is indeed a very nice find!
I'd say above but you could also put it somewhere up on the Fender like this?

Either just keep the GT badge where it is or remove it and attach the Mustang badge in it's place. IMO both just don't look quite right together and also give the fender the appearance of looking more cluttered up as well.

^ That. The two styles don't look great together. Too different. One or the other would be my opinion. It's exactly why I ditched my GT fender badges and put the Powered by Ford ones on (the real ones, not them other kind, or those other kind, mind) because I haven't ever liked that GT script, but that's just me...? And those 4.6 badges just don't look right either... and I won't like and put 5.0 on it. That's just not right.

/One day I'll get to the faux cap... Just gonna put a V6 one on the back. It'll match the steerin' wheel. I actually have the 'new' one around here somewhere...

thats interesting... i kinda like that idea. im assuming these GT badges arent secured by studs with holes in the fenders, and only adhered on? the fishing line trick will remove them?
this makes sense as ive been kicking around the idea of a white "gt 300" rocker stripe. but dont want to "over GT" the car... so this would be a balance. undecided about the rocker stripe right now

here's another vote for this approach -- one or the other, not both

and yes I believe the GT badge is positioned with a pin, but held on with adhesive . . . the usual methods for removing adhesive badges should work, such as hair dryer + fishing line (I am not an expert on this so do a little research on the best way to remove it)

Exactly 100% spot on.. Completely two different styles that don't look good together

The GT badges are indeed attached to the fenders with pins and studs that are also secured with adhesive. Therefore before using the fishing line method, you'll also need to uninstall the pin studs located behind the fender, then use either a heat gun or hair dryer to soften up the adhesive prior to removing the badges.

Yes! they are indeed positioned on the fender with pins and secured with both pin studs and adhesive. Therefore uninstalling the pin studs behind the fender are required before using either a heat gun or hair dryer to soften up the adhesive prior to removing the GT badges by using the fishing line technique.

NO! they are not just stuck on with adhesive, they're also attached to the fender with pins and studs.

thanks, if i heat up the glue, can it be pried out with a plastic trim tool , or is it actually held with a nut. also , do you guys happen to know where the studs are located? i would like to make sure the badge will cover the holes before removing anything! thanks

Yes! the pins/studs are held on with nuts. They're located behind the inner fender where the badges are attached, you can't miss them. Therefore you will have to remove the nuts before proceeding with heating up the glue and then removing the badges with your fishing line. You shouldn't really need to pry them out by using a plastic trim tool, as once the stud nuts are removed and glue is loose enough, they should come right out with just the fishing line. Just make certain not to use much pressure and run the fishing line back and forth, from side to side and from up and down. If however you do feel the need for using a plastic trim tool? just be extremely very careful.

Since you asked I vote for one or the other but not both together.

do you think the new badge would cover the holes by looking at it?

From just looking! The new badges won't be wide enough to cover up the holes. The GT badges have the pins located on each side of the letters and are wider than your new badges. Only way to know for certain, is by removing the GT badges and test fitting the new ones

I removed all badges from my 2005 GT. I got creative and used the running pony from my front grill and stuck it on the trunk lid, the fender GT's are gone and I added a tri-bar pony to the Eleanor style grill. Most people that pull up to me think it's a V6 and try to take off on me but when I blow past them they're shocked. If they catch up when I slow down or at a light they always ask "which engine is in there?" It's a modified supercharged V8, they tell me that I tricked them but I say nope I never said it was a V6 you assumed.

That said I do like those badges maybe I'll put them on my fenders, I don't have to worry about the holes since they're carbon fiber like the hood.
