Bike Racks

Would anybody know if there were such a thing that would safely fit onto a Mustang ? & Thank-You for taking the time. Ed

i think with some careful placement you could put a universal trunk deal on it.

i have been wanting a roof rack system for mine though. would help dearly

Awh there's always the back seat :bad:

It's an 80 mile round trip for me every Sunday to ride the mountain bike trails at Markham Park and I use a rack called Bones , which is made by Saris. I've never had any problems using it and I run 80 on the freeways getting there. I'll take a picture this Sunday while it's on the car and you can see how it fits ...

I use a SportRack bike rack. Well-made hook-shaped thing that holds four bikes.

It fits in the square receiver of my Class 1 trailer hitch. I like it because nothing ever touches the car. I remove the front wheels from the bikes for more ground clearance.

+1

These are indestructable and great fit without scratching up the car!

OK , here's the pictures ... I use a piece of micro fiber cloth under each of the rubber feet. I also changed the side straps so they hook under the wheel well instead of the side of the trunk lid. As I said , I run 80-85mph and the bike doesn't move around at all ...

Any idea as to the cost? Would it fit a bike like this:

I got mine shortly after getting my car and that was almost 3 years ago so I don't remember exactly what I payed , but I think it was around $100 or a little less. The cost varies as to how many bikes it will hold , the red one above holds 3 bikes and cost a little more. As far a holding the bike you show , I think it probably would , but I can't say for sure. My cannondale is a full suspension too and I just put it on at an angle ...

So even though it doesn't have the typical top bar in between the handle bars and the seat it works by tilting it?

NBAworm 6/25/07 04:07 PM

Tilt it, or just get one of these for around 30 bucks... An adapter for your bike so that it can be carried by one of these type bike racks.

More people with bike racks!!! hey 05Yellow :) I just got a Saris rack, it seems pretty nice, but have you had any problems with it diggin into the bumper? I seem to have 2 soft spots right where the lower legs sit on the bumper, It's started to make nice dents into the bumper now :( Do you mount yours sllightly off center? I was just asking on another thread about hiches, but between the actual hitch and then buying a rack... they can get kinda costly!

Hope you have some insight! :)

Jason , mine sits dead center and on the flat surface , which is pretty solid so I don't get any dents. Are you putting the legs on the sloping surface , that may not be as solid ? I also put a piece of microfiber cloth under each foot , so there's no marring ...

Hmm, yea after studying the pictures I noticed that the top feet are actually on your trunk, where I had mine at the base of my rear window. I'll try moving the whole thing down some, it's interesting after poking around on the bumper, I think there are 2 unsupported spots on the sloped area as you mentioned that happen to fall right where the feet sit!! Kinda silly.. If I move it down some I might not have that problem as you suggested though! I'll give it a try tonight :)

Thanks for the reply!!
