Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis dead at 82 By MarketWatch SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch)-- Al Davis, the legendary owner of the Oakland Raiders, has died at age 82, the National Football League team announced on its website Saturday morning. The team said it would have a statement later in the day. Davis, whose teams own three Super Bowls, was known as much for winning an antitrust suit against the NFL when it tried to block his moving the team to Los Angeles. The Raiders later returned to Oakland. Davis had been head coach of the Raiders and commissioner of the old American Football League, which merged with the NFL. |
I hate to speak ill of the dead, so I won't...I have to say something. The Raiders might actually begin to improve without him. Not that I wanted him dead and I still hate the raiders, bunch of cheap and dirty players, maybe now they'll clean it up, but probably not. RIP

Yeah its become their culture. Might be hard to break.
But in the prime years back in the day, Davis put some energy in the game. |
I have nothing to add.

/who wouldn't have liked to live his life? //Well, maybe not the jumpsuits... the rising up to own the team part though. That was pretty nifty. |
