:nice:

wakerider017 3/23/05 03:31 PM

so what happened here... SVT is borrowing Shelby's name? Is it called a "Cobra GT 500" or just "GT 500"

GottaHaveIt 3/23/05 05:35 PM

I'll buy one right Now ! My credit ? they have win what you buy ? ok I'll buy if no win I'm still ahead ! NICE ! and Thanks Brad for the awsome pictures !

GottaHaveIt 3/23/05 05:47 PM

I think a hand shake is needed !

mustangfun101 3/23/05 06:47 PM

I like the lines on the grill and on the lower part of the front end. The comparison while they (GT and Shelby) are parked next to each other proves what a couple little tweaks will do. I like the whole package......even the lettering on the rear.

dave 02 gt 3/23/05 06:58 PM

What a Car!!!!! :drive:

00StangGT 3/23/05 08:42 PM

rcinco 3/23/05 09:32 PM

Any guesses as to whether or not that hood will fit on the 05 Mustang GT?

"I just don't get the "remove the goofy SHELBY lettering on back" Would you prefer a huge cutout in the bumper that says COBRA like the 03's. Now that's ugly."

Actually i'd rather neither. I think the subtle shelby cobra logos do the job. I would definitely remove the "SHELBY" It looks tacky.

Yeah it looks kindof tacky here too...

Good point, it was tacky back then too.

Yeah I agree...what were they thinkin'
and why would anyone pay $125K for one today? go figure.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say no, simply because that hood has a slight bulge between the headlamp posts, and the lower bumper is different. Since the headlight bars are slanted, the grill opening isnt quite the same as a V6/GT. It would need some fab work to fit right, but who knows...

elvism 3/23/05 09:49 PM

its ok, i was expecting alot more. should have been better with all the hype!!!!!!

What were you expecting? Big ugly tacked on scoops? AWD? 800HP? A Mr. Fusion unit? What? :dunno:

I think SVT followed the exact same formula as the previous Cobra: subtle but distinctive styling changes to set it off from the regular GT, a more refined suspension tune, and a big, bad-hiney motor. The only question mark in my mind is the price.

mustangfun101 3/24/05 03:16 AM

I agree with Mark. It seems people aren't happy unless it's overdone with a bunch of tacked on vents and scoops. I like it the way it is. It will leave room for those "pimp my ride" folks to do more if they want to ruin a modern Shelby Cobra.

Why 2 years? It is supposed to be available next May, June or July (2006). It may take longer by the time you actually get yours, but, they are supposed to start making them next spring.

Why not THIS June or July? It's basically a parts bin car anyways aside from a few body and trim items. It's not like they had any substantial new design and engineering challenges confronting them like a real IRS suspension or something. :-D

Because this is only a "near-production" concept. They'll make some changes between now and then once they get feedback on this concept.

crazyhorse 3/24/05 07:41 AM

Think they are getting enough feedback from Rhumb about IRS?
