they should have gone with those rear lights, but oh well... I'm extremely happy with what they have. I'm positive they will change a couple of things in future models

The Cobra R is not mine, it's from the 2005 Gulf Coast Regional Mustang Show

Okay...if you look at the clay model in the MT article you will see the production splitter and hood ...also the rear of the GT-R is what you'll get in the way of taillights!

i'm really thinking that in a year or two after the GT500 is released, they will add some scoops and those tail lights. They couldnt put all of their eggs in one basket for the first year you know

The article implies(as has HTT and Lyons and Mays before it) that fans of the stick- on rice scoops will be disappointed with Mustangs for quite some time in the future.

I hope they don't change the taillights. I think they look great. I think the GT-R ones look overdone.

They are huge empty plastic red boxes. The shape of them were virtually identical to the 1990's capri, which was so feminine it actually stinked testostorone out of any one it drove near. I still havent figured out the attraction to them, they looked like three Glad disposable storage bins glued together and dyed red. They were most likley made of then plexiglass sheets and made in the back of the shop for the show car. I actually got to touch and play with the original show car a couple years ago, they looked hand-made up close. The boxes were big and deep and would never properly transmit light to meet DOT approval. If they had to line the inside dividers with reflector material and modified the rear panels to control/difuse light(instead of perfectly clear lenses like they were), it would be a big fuzzy red box.

I'm just a little blinded because I really like those rearlights from that old Vyto chop, and those are the closest things to them. but you are right when you say they look like huge bins stuck together.
