The new Mustang Enthusiast column "Inside SVT" has a few interesting tidbits. No real new news, but, It says the current plan is to run only 2 years with the option to "either change it or move to another flagship high performance Mustang by 2009." It goes on the say basically that they could continue Shelby, resurrect Cobra or do a different sub-branded Mustang model altogether. Sounds like politicians speaking in circles.

It also has a response to a letter about dealer markups. The guy is against them. He talks about SVT may refer you to dealers willing to sell without AMV. He does not come right out and say they will, but, sort of implies it. I intend to take a copy of the article to my dealer when I go to order the car.

Since we are not allowed to copy or post copyrighted material and I am too lazy to type it out or send scans to individuals, you'll have to buy the magazine or borrow from someone else. It is actually a pretty good mag. It wouldn't hurt to support the sales of it anyway.

Thanks for the info.

I agree wholeheartedly that this falls under the category of the "Art of Doublespeak" of simply non-commitantly talking and not saying a thing.

Really my point is, I think we all should read the article, photocopy it and take it with us to negotiate the deal. My dealer has promised me MSRP, but, we'll see what happens when the ordering codes come out. This guy is implying SVT may help by listing dealers that don't charge AMV. He also talks about how it alienates customers, etc. I'd say it would be good to show your sales managers.
