Brad, I saw this a few days ago as well. In all honesty I don't think it's a real PJ. 1. there are no 1/4 window covers and 2. Saleen painted all of the decklids black on the PJ's... how could this one have left without a black decklid? Sounds fishy to me?
Just my $.02 Too many parts for non PJ Saleen. Just enough wrong to make you think? :agree: |
Talk about clean! Do you have anymore photos or maybe a video?
|
Looks like the real deal to me.

Autoblog has lots of pix at http://www.autoblog.com/photos/twin-...jones-mustang/
The auction listing mentions adding 3" exhaust. It also has the Parnelli Jones Watts Link suspension. |
Yeah, Thats the real deal! I like it:drool:
|
But I'm still a little confused...
how could it have left Saleen without the 1/4 window treatments and flat black paint on the decklid?!

I'm not so sure about that. I'm a Saleen dealer and about half of those items are available to the general public.
The seats aren't made by Saleen but were outsourced to a company in California, and with a valid PJ VIN, any body shop can get items from Saleen including the very popular, unavailable, chrome surrounds on the front and rear fascia (which by the way go for $48 for the rears and $43 for the front) I'm just thinking that no body would spend $60,000 on a car only to have the trunk repainted solid orange, after all, I'm 99% sure Saleen wouldn't have let one go out without the black paint on there. The other thing that gets me thinking is why would someone spend that kind of money on a base vehicle, and then spend probably another 20K + on modifications and then try to sell it at an obvious loss on eBay? Why not buy a base GT, bore and stroke it, and do what you want? I'm just saying it doesn't seem right. Although there are a lot of parts there, there are a few that aren't and touches that aren't too much to cast doubt... most importantly the non existent paint on the trunk, doesn't add up??? Either way, it's a crazy sweet machine!

Where does someone get a fake window sticker. It looks real from here.
|
Very good question, I was just actually wondering that myself???
Twin Turbo PJ Sticker: http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog....turbopj_13.jpg Another PJ sticker from a PJ currently on eBay, still affixed to the car One is color, one is not, idk. If they both are real stickers, and one isn't color, I guess I wouldn't put it past Saleen to let one out the door without the paint and window treatment! http://i21.ebayimg.com/07/i/001/12/6d/31d3_3.JPG
