Not bad, What do you guys think?

2006GT500 10/24/07 03:44 PM

Cool, but for that price you could get a Shelby. I think for that price the 6 speed tranny should be used. As for exclusitivity it's awesome only 100 made, but in the long run is it going to be worth anything? Will a Saleen or a Roush ever be held in the same respect as the old Shelby's that are worth a ton of money? Besides a new car today as an investment is a bad idea. I don't know overall great looking car, but is it worth the money?

I think it defeats the purpose to get a new car as an investment. If you think it'll be worth something down the line, buy it in 5 years when the price bottoms out, then wait for the price to rise.

As for exclusivity... Well, it has that. But it doesn't really look any different than any other S281.

Interesting to see that Saleen Inc's new management is following Roush's path with multiple "limited edition" model runs.

Could this be the start of too much of a good thing? :hmm:

Heck it doesn't even have 3:73s or even 3:55s!

And doesn't making only 100 negate it's affordability? Won't there be ADMs?

mike1284 10/28/07 08:47 AM

i bet the alloy color one looks money. i like the saleens way better than the roush. too bad dealers wont sell them for under "$50k"

Yenko?

SuperSugeKnight 10/28/07 07:05 PM

Whats so special about the RF? The price?

2006GT500 10/29/07 10:53 AM

Yeah Yenko's are sweet and worth a ton, but they weren't mass produced either and to this day not a lot of people know what they are. Some people don't even know that there was a '67, '68 and '69 Yenko. Furthermore, there were Yenko Nova's and Chevelles, they are so rare some have never heard of them.

project_v6 10/29/07 01:24 PM

I dont know what RF means...

2006GT500 10/29/07 02:32 PM

I believe it's Red Flag.

Thats true, but for how many cars shelby is throwing his name on these days i dont think its gonna have the same effect as the 60s ones do nowadays. Im not sure how it is where any of you guys are, or of the exact numbers, but for every saleen or roush i see, i probably see 5 shelbys.:dunno:

Saleen and Roush are making the mustang into a great all around sportscar, Shelby has unfortunately slipped to the level of a marketing ploy for ford. You can get an svt car with his name on it, or a shelby gt that is built at his shop (if im not mistaken), that is really not much more than a lot of expensive cosmetic work... when the import guys do that we all call it ricing. How the mighty have fallen:shakehead:

... just my $.02

I like the wheels, other then that it's the same as the others.

TJ4Cam 11/2/07 06:47 AM

I like it, I really do. But what ever happened to affordable Mustangs? I mean everywhere I look I see $50K+ Mustangs coming out? I really like the Trak Pak Roush and had thoughts of buying one until I saw the price.

Sometimes I wonder if the Mustang hobby is any cheaper than the Corvette hobby, which is where I came from.

essque 11/4/07 11:41 PM

looks awesome. Most of those who dog Saleens have never driven one. For some people, it's nothing to spend $10-20k to modify their GT. What's an extra $15-$20k for someone who wants a modified Mustang tuned by a reliable company with quality parts & installation under warranty plus it's limited edition.
