Seriously.

I'm guessing 3fps at 1/4000 of a second on those shots.

Scothew 12/20/06 08:09 AM

Yeah im curious on those shots as well? How did you get the ball in ice like that. Had to be ice, since at 1/200th (according to EXIF data) of a second shutter speed, I dont think you could get that clear of an image if it was a moving shot into (or out of) water, plus the "fuzz" on the ball doesnt appear wet.

mobster 12/20/06 12:03 PM

For that shot I simply threw the tennis ball in to a aquarium full of water with my right hand, and pressed the shutter button with my left. by using an external flash I was able the "freeze" the action, and by doing it in a dark room the shutter speed didn't matter. My method is far from perfect (it took more than 100 shots to get that one) but it works for me.

I was using a new tennis ball, for some reason they look dry even when they are soaking wet.

Scothew 12/20/06 12:56 PM

What flash were you using?? and where did you have it placed?

Great shots for the complicated nature of them!
