Found a Fun Painting Program...
Called Artrage. Link here...http://www.ambientdesign.com/artrage.html
Very easy to use and the basic program is free. However, after playing with it for a week, I ordered the $25 download of the full version. Has the look of being hand-drawn, not digital. Here's an example of a V-day card that my 11 yr old son and I created for is his class party today. (Our house should be full of chocolate hearts tonight.) :-D We used "paint," "marker," "air brush," and "crayon" brush tools to create it. He just got some red high-top "Chucks" so we put them on Mr. Heart too. http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z...008final-1.jpg |
Chuck,
That is an awesome program... My kids love drawing stuff on it. It kindof has the feel of the Alias sketch tool. Glad you posted that, I never thought to . Rich |
looks cool
|
Thanks for posting that! my little girl love to draw in notepad all the time. she will be digging this!
|
hehe chuck..been there done that 9 months ago ;)
still can't get used to it though |
Doug--kind of figured that you, being the digital master painter-san that you are, would have seen this before.;) :-D
Now for me, after 4 years, I still can't get PS to do what I want it to do, when I want it done.:banghead: Just too many key combinations to push or menus to find. :shame: (Why does every fill I add have to be in a new layer, and not in the same one......uuaarrraagghhh!) |
Chuck,
That's the way most us PS'ers feel about this vector stuff. I'm trying but I can't wrap my brain around it! Rich |
Did some more doodling with Artrage.
Really like this program, must get better at bitmap painting... Just must practice..., practice..., practice! (Used chalk, brush, pencil, marker and crayon tools.) http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z...eyPainting.jpg |
That looks good.

Chuck,
Does that program work with your tablet? Rich |
Thanks...:-D
Rich--Yes it does. The tool menu interface is just an easy touch and/or drag with the stylist to changes brushes, sizing and colors. Try downloading the basic free version, it's missing a few tools, but you can see how easy it is to use the menus with a styist. Still working on how to use the stencils and tracing (similar to having a light table) features. |
sweet! one question, do you still use acrylic? is there a vista version yet?
|
Jason--Nope, unfortunately Acrylic never made it to retail as tested. M/S did a big change to the program
before releasing it as Expression Design which is one of a 3 program Expression Suite product for Vista that I haven't wanted to buy. Final version turned out to be very similar (IMO) to Adobe Illustrator, and lost all of the bit map features, just kept the vector drawing stuff. |
Hmm... I may have to test this out
