Cool! You should have just whipped out the ol' credit card! :-D

Gash05 1/6/06 02:45 PM

lol would if i had one, still using debit :( gonna see if my dad will lend me some money until the next cheque, would love to see that happen! :)

chrisc65 1/6/06 03:12 PM

You are on the way...but how frustrating it is to have mods just sitting there!

Congrats!

BTW - Credit Cards Suck! Don't do it!

Very good advice! Avoid Credit Cards at all costs! If you do get one, keep it's limit down, like $500. Seriously. Only need one to build a decent rating, and one that you can't get in trouble in. Take it from me, it isn't fun spending 15 years to pay off 'a couple' credit cards!!!

Oh, and have fun with the mods. :D

Hambone 1/6/06 08:10 PM

Nice!...just don't run it without a new tune! Your car would be very unhappy...heh.

TorchRedV6 1/7/06 07:13 PM

Sounds good. I'm waiting to get the money together to get the C&L and Tune from Bamachips. This is going to be my first mod and I can't wait based on everyone's opinions about it here. I'm only 23 though and in college at UA so my mod fund is not as large as most peoples but I'm trying!!! Hope you enjoy it!

hamidlmt 1/7/06 07:31 PM

Bamachips' tunes are marvelous!

hey... and, you probably already know, but I gotta mention... don't install that intake until you get the tuner! Your car will barely run with the added airflow!

edit: whoops... Hambone... didn't see you mention that already!

As everyone is saying: DO NOT USE WITHOUT A TUNE!!!

You can be patient... I had my CAI before I got the car and then waited 3 months and installed my CAI, 3.73s, a Detroit TrueTrac, and tuned with the SCT XCAL2. Well worth waiting for.

lol alright alright...gonna get the g/f to hide it from me so i wont go crazy and install the little sucker when i get my hands on it! hehehe :D

I had mine in a box in the corner of my living room taunting me... The MMR is overpriced, but it is a FINE looking piece of equipment!

Torch_Vert 1/13/06 06:08 PM

I just ordered the C&L from Doug at 'Bama. Decided it didn't make sense to sink the dough into the tuner to just use it with the AEM for very minor gains....

Hambone 1/13/06 08:34 PM

Nice! You'll love it...it's funny hearing my wife comment on how "the car purrs now" and how even she can tell how much better it drives.

Thanks Hammy, that helped ease my self imposed guilt derived from replacing one mod with an upgraded mod ;)

One thing that scare me is that MMR supplys a piece of heater hose to replace the stock PCV hose... exposure to engine oil will cause the heater hose to break down... my hose was showing signs of this..

Yeah, my shop only used the stock hose and used about an inch of the MMR hose to connect to the MMR. It looks much better, and I was very suspect about that hose, too. Yeah, if I had t do it all over again, I would have gone with a different system.

Hehehe...P_Kiley, the reality is that I'm tgrying to ease MY OWN guilt from getting the C&L and new tunes as an upgrade to a JMS CAI and tunes :-D

Misery loves company :nice:

Well, fortunately we have Scrming to make the rest of us look like serious penny-pinchers, or at least less crazy anyway ;)

It was interesting when we went to put the C&L on and pull the MMR off... The heater hose WOULD NOT come off the MMR tube! We had to cut it off! There is still a big chunk of rubber stuck to the tube... it's like it's fused right to the tube... it was quite the eye opener... LOL
