Thumbs up

Sorry if this is beating a dead horse.

Sold my motorcycle Saturday, check will clear Monday.:headbang: Paid some bills and have a little money to upgrade the intake and tune. I have read all the forum topics and all I can say is that now I am thoroughly confused.:bang:

I love the look of the AEM, but I am not sure if the Pred is what I want.

I like the dyno numbers of the TI with the SCT tune and I know that the SCT will hold the stock tune and is more popular with the auto guys, not really sure how the 5 speed fellas feel.

I have heard nothing but great things about the C&L with Doug's tunes, but I really don't like the looks of the intake.

Last but not least, does anyone know if Doug has a tune for the AEM? If so then I will probably buy them separately...

decisions, decisions

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Asa

Just so you know, for the time being, John Demolet is running a special on the TI combo, CAI, SCT w/Professional tune and NKG plugs for $560. Here is his email: tunableinduction@yahoo.com

But you can't go wrong with any of these.

Well, I voted for what I have in my ride... go figure! I have absolutely loved the addition of the C&L intake with a Bamachips' tuned X-cal 2.

The Tunable Induction was a very close second on my list.

The AEM looks nice, but Doug didn't see any gains from it, compared to stock intake w/ his tunes.
The C&L won my vote when I first saw it. One of the beefiest, and one of the best filter shrouds around imo. For 599 you cant beat that.

Yea, I like the C&L a lot!!!! The TI does now have a wrap around shield like the C&L, here is a pic:

John is sending me the upgraded shield this week.

I've been beating a dead horse here myself in these forums for Steeda CAI & SCT from brenspeed.com... I'm solidly in the Brents camp.

Steeda CAI & Brent's SCT tunes. The Steeda CAI is a unit that does not disappoint. brenspeed.com.

Doug does have a tune for the AEM, as noted above results were about the same as the stock airbox w/ a tune. The AEM is about the sweetest looking piece out there tho' imho. If you do want to go with the AEM, I have the one from my car (which Doug used to develop his tune). It's in great shape, and I'd be willing to give you a great price on it. (I've decided to switch to the homely but more productive C&L)

Looks sharp... I understand the new heat shield is supposed to be closer to the GT's. Looking foward to a pic!

Personally my preference in CAI's runs straight towards the MRT intake. Yea its not the beefiest intake out there but I've yet to see one that looks nearly as good when the hood is up.

The AEM looks good but doesn't do much other than that. I thought the idea was HP and Tq ....not glamour. Of course I'm old and was brought up on bolt ons that produced Hp but more often than not didn't look all that puuuurrrrrrttttttyyyyy....but to each his own...I'd go with the C&L and Doug's tunes. It's not purrttyy but it flows...

I happen to think the C&L looks better than any other CAI I've seen, that's just me.

Maybe I'll like it better in person, but in the photos the C&L looks like an aluminum model of a digestive tract to me. Still it does work well sooooo...

Hamid: I have to say it looks better on your car than in the pics on C&L's website.
