What is a MAF?

Yeah, so I'm a newb...whats a MAF?

Used in a sentence, "My CAI came with an attached 87mm MAF."

"Mass Air Flow" is the actual housing & usually comes w/ sensor inside your CAI housing that leads to the air filter - to measure the amount of air coming in to the engine - the sensor records this and relays it to the computer and then to the engine to help determine things like air to fuel ratio, etc.... - that the Diablo or XCaliber or some other tuner is required on the 05 s is to optimize this process...
