you can just use one of those 1.99 spark plug gappers at the parts store. I did find the stock gap was .045" so I set them to that

Glenn 4/4/08 07:05 PM

so basically you just tap the lower part of the plug to the proper gap? Like you would on a older spark plug? Thats what I figured but figured I would ask any way

you can but your not supposed to.. Like I said technically theres a tool that the plug sits in, then applies pressure evenly on the end .
THIS TOOL MUST BE USED TO GAP SPARK PLUGS ON ALL 2005-2008 MUSTANG GT's, USE OF OTHER METHODS MAY CAUSE SPARK PLUG FAILURE AND ENGINE FAILURE!

jesus christ dude the champion plug does not use that tool. The electrode is different than the Ford one. He asked about the champion plugs not the piece of crap ford plugs you apparently are passionate about using

'' how do you set the gap on these new plugs'' or ''Like you would on a older spark plug?'' Read that ! considering the Champion is designed basically like the older plugs, one would assume he is referring to the new design. and watch your foul mouth this isn't the
S197 forum......:nice:

actually I was talking about that piece of crap ford plug..... I guess! I thought there was a tool for them but was wondering if you could just tap them like you would tap the old style plug.

Take it easy its just a spark plug :grin::nice:
