Done this today after reading your post.
posting some pictures of the process.
the sound turned out really good.
almost no sound at idle can’t tell anything has been done at all.
but when reving the engine you get that nice deep sound.
no noticeable drone while driving.
I actually chose to go that way so the car passes the annual check without problem as where i live any exhaust mod of any kind will make it fail.
We left the middle pipe untouched and welded close the whole opposite of the inlet.
