Ok everyone,
Tomorrow night I'm taking the car to the drags, Been a long time since I've done it. What time is respectable for 1/4 mile w/stock tires and stock motor?

I have run mine once, and it was the first time that I have ever gone down a track. I lost grip pretty well on the start, and got a 14.5 @ 97 mph. Not great, but not bad for my first time ever. I imagine with a decent start, 13.9ish is easily attainable.

13.688 @ 102.23 no mods or spare removal or anything like that.

You have a 4 speed Man. GT? That's what your Signature says anyway.
I thought they were 5 speeds.
I have the Automatic and ran 13.84 when stock at a little over 99 my only time at the track.
You should be able to top that with a stick.

Are you guys giving it any RPM's off the start ?

First run, try launching about 1800 and adjust from there.

13.58 bone stock

Realdeal 8/4/05 11:53 PM

First time at the track back in April I had stock tires but did have a Diablosport 93 tune and ebaich pro kit my best time was 13.51 at 102mph. 13.7- 13.9 were pretty easy to get but the weather was cooler around 60 at night. I went to the track last week it was much hotter around 80 deg at nite and track seemed much slicker best I could do was 13.9 very hard to get traction. At the same track when the weather was cool I was able to pull a 13.71 with my sons bone stock '03 GT
Temp makes all the difference. These are the only three times Ive ever run at a track. You can't just dump it off the line it takes a little finesse. Good Luck.

13.6 @ 99.83 bone stock automatic

Thanks everyone I'll post my times tonight or Saturday morning; depending on when I get home.

FordRacing 8/9/05 08:54 AM

Well I promised I would post my times, not very happy with it but...I guess for not doing it in about 15 years it wasn't all bad. It sure can become habit forming however.

Best time was 13.96 @100.97mph 2.18 60' Reaction time was .758 on that run
Worst time of the night was 14.47 I did make alot of passes and never did get a good handle on the start either I bogged <sp> down or spun the tires.

I guess it's time for some gears and set of slicks... :-D
