Steeda / Cold Air Intake users - K&N Precharger wrap?

For those running a cold air intake, is it worth it to use the K&N Precharger/Drycharger wrap?

I have a Steeda Cold Air intake, but I don't live in a particularly dusty environment (Southeast Michigan). Will the Precharger wrap last a long time or is it going to get brittle, dry, and tear easily with heat?

I've been running one for about 3 years now. Looks as good as brand new. When I was showing my car I got tire of trying to keep the filter looking good with blue oil. A blue wrap worked wonders. I'm at work but when I get home I'll post some pictures.

Dly: what size did you buy (what was the part #?) The link shows RF-1048, but the brand is Outerwears. Is it the same as K&N?

Outerwear is the brand. The link is the one to fit the K & N filter.

A shameless plug.

I replaced the plastic overflow tank with a Canton Steel tank. On the neck is an extra overflow tube. At the time (several years ago) I looked around my garage and just used some SS line and a empty Monster can to catch the overflow. People at the car shows liked it so I never changed it. It is even legal an my local NHRA drag strip and the local SCCA racing club.
