Quick quick winter storage tip needed.
 

Which gear do I winter-store the car in (neutral not an option)? I notice mine is hella tough to get out of first after sitting around for a tiny bit.

Suggestions?

how about wtih some cheap wheel chocks and leave it in neutral?

i got some at pep boys for 20.00 that i use to work on my car when the rear is off the ground...

if thats still not an option, i'd go for reverse since its a low gear and would resist the temptation to roll if someone was to bump it.

but i dont know for sure since i've never had to store a car.

Cheap wheel chocks are great idea, however public garage, so that's a no go.

Any other gears that people can suggest?

Everything I have ever read says "put in neutral" and don't use the parking brakes. I guess if you had to put it in a gear, put it in 5th (no real reason for this) and then try and get there at least once a month and go through the clutch/gears to keep things loose. Since we aren't talking REAL long periods of time like a year, that should be good enough.

I would vote 3rd, since you are not keeping any pressure on the springs that keep the shifter in the middle of the pattern. I noticed on my previous stang (89 with 225K miles) that after keeping it in first every time it was parked, the springs were pretty weak to the left (1-2 gear) but were still stiff like new to the right (4-5 gear). Now I keep it in neutral with the parking brake on while parked. Granted, it has never sat for more than 2 days, so it's not a problem. parking brake works good on these cars.

Ok I'll say 4th because no one has picked that gear yet.... But really it does not matter which gear you keep/store it in.
