larmo - i actually REALLY like the sound of my x-pipe right now, but i want it to be a little louder (i like loud things lol). i dont wanna go OR x pipe so i guess my next best option would be the catted H?
i dont know, i've heard that the H pipe is a lot louder than the x pipe down low. it seems to give not only sound that you can hear, but sound you can feel (if that makes any sense). when i had the borla stingers and stock h pipe, my house would shake and the windows would vibrate, but with the x pipe now, its definitely loud, just not a rumble
but this is just a light consideration so far.
and the pypes tips do look absolutely pathetic, i really miss the borla tips and mine are slowly deteriorating as well
btw, i still have my stingers if anyone is interested, pm me

Had to canel my order from brenspeed because they said they would't get the system in until sometime next week... Called rpm outlet and they had them in stock so I placed an order. I hope I can get this installed in time for the stangpede this weekend

The Pypes tips are T304 SS. That looks like the result of using 93 octane gasoline, and heat causing discoloration of the T304 SS. Very nice tip alignment, might I add. I had to do some tweaking with my Violators to get them aligned like yours.

The higher octane gas generally doesn't burn as completely as the 87 octane, which causes faster carbon buildup in the exhaust. I think you were asking about the "brown" color of the tips. That is caused from heating the SS. You could use some metal polish to buff up the SS. Remember that stainless steel isn't a coating but rather the alloy itself.

So I already have SLP Loudmouths which I know are just tips for my 05 mustang and I am really considering the Pypes Mid Muffler system... Is it feasible to put the SLP tips in place of the Pypes tips? Cause I really dislike the Pypes tips and love the SLP tips!

Larmo,
I'm wondering as well if what you're seeing on your tips isn't just a result of running the O/R H. I had my MM setup on for about 6MO & my tips still looked like new when I removed. Attaching a pic.
Since I installed LT's & O/R H, my GTA tips are starting to look slightly discolored as well, similar to yours. Something to think about.
