[COLOR=#840084][COLOR=#840084]but I have a really stupid sounding question.....how do you get gas in these things?? I just went for my 1st fill up and the fuel pump kept shutting off (as if the tank was full) which it was not. I couldn't seem to find a position for the nozzle to allow the fuel to flow very well.....and gave up after getting just 4 gallons in an otherwise empty tank....anyone else have this happen?

Also, the filler neck moves around quite a bit inside of it's well.....is this correct or is somthing amiss with my GT?

Try holding the nozzle upside down. I know it sounds dumb but it works!

This problem has been documented on another thread.

Myself? I've done 3 fill ups now without problem.

I did try a search and kept coming up with no matches.....can you point me that direction?

About the filler pipe appearing loose - can someone check your Stang by seeing if yours will move back and forth a bit? Just try to move the gas cap (installed) back and forth. Trying to figure out if this is normal or not - I looked on the back side and everything seems OK - but never had a fuel filler neck that could actually move around a bit...

One problem is the tank is a saddle bag tank that is on both sides of the trans tunnel. Look under the car and you will see what I mean. Thus the gas has to bleed to the other side after one side fills up. It happened to me a couple of times. I thought the gauge was wrong. I fill up slow now and have no problems. Plus I put the nozzle on the edge. I wish the tank was where the spare tire is.

I've not had a problem filling up the tank, except when it gets close to full which should be normal. I myself put the nozzle all the way in, and let it rip. (as stated before, NASCAR Style), when it gets close to full then it trips off. Then I play pull the nozzle game till it's full. Originally when I bought the car and did this, I would get a read back from the system that I had 314 miles to empty. Now even with some back flow, I'm getting 305 miles to emtpy. ???? After reading some of the threads here, it may be there is some problem with the gas tank, and vent. But not exactly sure. Just be patient, and it will work for you.

It depends on the nozzles the gas station uses. There are 1 or 2 stations I've stopped at and had problems. Most of the others I can fill up at full speed. I just go to the ones that don't give me a problem.
