Off Road H Pipe

Hey guys, you might have seen my prior post about tuning and getting an off road H pipe for my 07 GT. I decided to go through with it and just got the Pacesetter H pipe from Summit in today. However, I’m waiting for the non-foulers to get here before I get it installed since I can’t have the O2 sensors turned off in my tune. I’m gonna have to have someone drill in two more holes for O2 sensors since this new mid pipe only has one on the passenger side, right? My understanding is there’s supposed to be three O2 sensors, one before the cats on the passenger side and than one on each side after the cats. Anyone have any experience getting this done? I think my muffler shop will be able to do it if I just tell them exactly what I need done. Any suggestions or tips would be appreciated. Thanks

You could always request a return authorization from Summit Racing and inform them you need an off road H-pipe that has all 3 O2 sensor bungs. IIRC: Pypes performance exhaust, BBK and UPR include all 3 O2 bung sensor ports

that’s an option, but I can’t seem to find any other for sale. I guess the pypes off road H was discontinued.

I am not sure you will ever get the rear O2 sensor to read like you have cats, but I guess the extender trick might work . . . otherwise the normal solution is to turn them off to stop triggering the CEL; but that won't work if you have to pass emissions inspection

yeah emissions aren’t an issue. I just don’t want to have the check engine light on... I have my tune through BAMA right now and I thought they wouldn’t turn the O2 sensors off anymore but I can check with them.

Just checked UPR, BBK and Pypes performance exhaust websites and it appears they no longer produce off-road H-pipes. So it appears your only other options are either off road X-pipe, hi flow catted H-pipe or your more than likely going to have to settle for having a muffler shop weld-in the 2 O2 bungs. As for Bama? good luck in getting them to turn off your rear O2 sensors, as I highly doubt it lol.

thanks for looking into it man. I think I’ll just have my shop weld them in. Hopefully that will be easy enough if I just tell them exactly what I need. I’m hopin BAMA will help me out but who knows lol would make this a lot easier.

Don't count on BAMA turning off your rear O2 sensors nor anybody else for that matter. As none of the tuning vendors are no longer willing to take the risk in getting either fined or shut down for violating the EPA clean air act when it comes to tampering with the OEM on-board catalyst system. Think your best option, is have your shop weld-in the O2 bungs and roll the dice with the rear O2 non-fouler extenders

Yeah that’s what I’m planning on doing. I’ll update when I get it all done. Fingers crossed!
