I did a search, and some people said the Magnapaks and Magnaflows didn't drone, others said they both droned. A guy working for Magnaflow said neither will drone (on a GT500) but others chimed in and said they would drone badly at 1800-2000 RPM. I think people have very different levels of sensitivity to drone. I don't like drone because it doesn't make your car sound louder or nicer, it just kills your hearing and the car is still quiet from the outside.
The sound tubes on the 2010-up Mustangs inject that type of drone/sound into the cabin and I can't stand driving a 10-up Mustang for long periods of time.

Unless I'm coming home wicked late, I never shift below 3 grand. IMO, not that it's worth much, if you can afford to buy a new set of pipes you can afford to hold gears. Your heads are gonna get dirty too.

In my experience in a 13, Borla S Types have zero drone in all RPM ranges in all gears. Thought I got drone below 2k in 6th gear once, but it was really just the car (w/ 3.73s) begging me to downshift or speed up. Best mod Ive ever done b/c they sound do good. Always thought Stingers & S Types were the same though, so good info; thanks.

What about the Borla ATAK mufflers? It also seems a lot of the videos/reviews are interchangeably using the FRPP 5GT and the Borla S-types, which I assume are actually different based on the feedback about drone.

I also had considered those, based on the same fact. In the end, I chose the MRT mufflers on the basis of my past experience with their exhausts and the lower cost.

Did you look at the Touring model? Also, here is an interesting comparison video of the Touring, S-type, and ATAK. However this is on the Camaro.

If you are interested in the Borla Touring your not going to get a better deal then this. Shelby American is selling them for $339.00.

Corsa axlebacks. I've had them since 2005. No drone with any of my light mods (see signature) and show no signs of rust. (I want to say they are entirely stainless but may be mistaken. They're not too loud just driving around and sound amazing when you get on it. Also they are my favorite design looks wise.
Only down side at the time I bought them was that they are pricey.

I ended up going with the FRPP FR500S axle backs. They were pricey, over $100 more than the FRPP SGT / Borla S-type, but they only drone at 1000-1200 RPM if you push the throttle at a high load.
The quality was ok, the left tip was drooping so I had to adjust the rearmost hanger on the left axleback.
They are kind of loud in the morning. They idle at 60 dB and are 77 dB at 2500 RPM on the freeway.

Ford Racing just re-released the famous GTA axelbacks that came on the Shelby GT. I just picked up a set for my 07. They sound great and have no drone. The tips look awesome too. Blue Oval industries has a great price on them. Free shipping too. Good deal!

Got 409S Flowmaster AT's in place of the 40's and much tamer all around. Much better for the neighbors and no more interior drone, but I'm thinking of keeping the 40's for track days and cruises, etc...
