New C&L Performance Intake Manifold

Hey guys, I don't believe anyone has mentioned this yet...... but, C&L has a new 3v intake manifold that is just about ready for production. For pix and info, see below.

Thanks for the heads up. So for mildly modded cars this mod is pretty useless.

I would think that a car with a high flow inlet pipe and long tube headers/exhaust would benefit from this mod. Add in cams and you'd probably be smokin'.

Thanks for the heads up Tom. I will follow with interest!!

I wonder if the CDC Shaker System would still work with this without a problem.

GRAYPNY 7/22/08 07:16 PM

The runners seem to be higher so I don't think it would work with a shaker. Personally I would just put on the delete plates and save some money.

Good question guys. I won't give up my CDC shaker.

If they didn't change the height of the t-body location, I would think that the CDC shaker would still work. You may have to raise the front bracket slightly (Scott, like we did to yours and mine) if the intake runners are that much higher.

Did you read the tech write up? Interesting. And it sounds like the stock intake is not all that bad. The numbers will tell the whole story.

On another note, in the new MM&FF, the C&L ad states that the intake was developed in tandem with Patriot Performances new 3v heads. According the the ad, Patriot's heads are a brand new castings. Should be interesting to see what the heads/intake combo put out.

where you been topgun ? ....:poke: C&L has only been working on it for the last 2 years ! They have had working prototypes for over a year.

tom281 7/23/08 05:36 AM

Yeah I know, but it's gotta be getting closer to release. Question is- where have you been, STD?

Pwny 7/23/08 11:47 AM

Good! I have always wanted somebody to make a manifold for these cars.

70MACH1OWNER 7/23/08 03:56 PM

So I got to ask a basic question here. Is the stock manifold a restriction on the intake side of a stock or mildly modified engine? I didn't think it was. So if it is not a restriction it should not be worth any ponies...right? I am very interested but also very lyrie at the same time.
Scott:dunno:

"Given the flow rate of the stock intake manifold, it does not appear to be a restriction on your typical stock or mildly modified application where the cylinder heads have not been modified. This is not to say that a higher flowing intake manifold "CAN NOT" improve performance over stock, but rather to confirm that the factory intake does not represent a measurable restriction on the stock factory cylinder heads. Because of this, we are not willing to "go out on a limb" and make ANY potential power gain predictions based solely on airflow."

Based off of this I don't think where will be any noticeable gains.

Yes i red that too!
