Just to clarify before ordering .... 255/45zr18 front 295/45zr18 rear?

Am I good to go?

255/45zr18 front 295/45zr18 rear

Lowered 1.5 inches with Eibach Pro springs

295/45 zr18 is the widest Nitto makes the 555 in.... I'm not looking at getting the R as I'm more into road coarses than draggin.

thanks,

Jake

See my signature for the size I have on mine. I don't think Nitto has a 285 though.

295/45 has higher sidewalls than the 255/45
in other words, your car will sit with it's rear end higher than before

not sure if this is what you intended, but in order to maintain tire diameter while increasing the tread width, i'd go with 255/45ZR18 fronts, and 285/40ZR18 Rears.

that's what i got on my GT500 rims (standard GT500 tire size)

Thumbs up

You won't regret the 295/45's in the rear. They will however knock your gear ratio down a notch. My 4.10's are now effectively 3.90's, but it's worth the trade off:

I dont mind if the rear sit a little higher, its a good look. I want to get the front/rear up a little so that i can avoid some scraping and rubbing of the frame/exhaust in my complex. it's the only place i scrape and rub, other than that i'm fine.

i dont like the idea of the gear ratio being knocked down a little... hmmm time for 373's? or 410's...

Is there no end to the upgrade bug?

Use this info for what is is worth. I have just purchased Steeda Pentra Chrome wheels 18 x 9.5 and Nitto 555 275/40/ZR18 from Steeda. I spoke with them a number of times to get their recomendations on what will and won't fit. My car is NOT lowered and they said 275 series is the widest they suggest for the front of the car. You definitely can go wider on the back.
Scott

BTW. Where can I get a set of headlights like that????

If you're going with 295's on 18's, you would want a 40 aspect ratio to keep it close to stock diameter. They'll still be a little bigger than you front ones but 45/18's will be way bigger, over 1.5".

I thought if i kept the 45 aspect ration on both front and back that it would be ok?

a tire comparison chart showed les than 3% increase on the rear in height

nitto also doesnt make a 295/40 .....

i sure hope they will order both sizes for me to compare in person mounted on the rims, for the rear... then i can see the difference in person.

I like the look of the Bullits, and I decided to keep the front tires and wheels so I got the mustangtuning 18x10 bullit knockoffs for the rear so I could add a wider tire with basically the same diameter and matching Pirelli Pzero nero tires.

So, I have the Steeda Sport springs with adjustable front camber plates with the stock tires and wheels up front and the Pirelli 285/40Z 18s in back.

I haven't decided yet whether I want to go to the 18x9s up front [I hate to add MORE weight or mess with the steering].

I like the deep dish on the back but not necessarily on the front. I got black rims and my gf saw a pic of them so I got both front/rear black bullets.

I had Discount Tire order that tire for me back when I bought tires and wheels. They put the front and rears on one side to see how it looked. From the side it was awesome but, the offset/backspacing on the Smoothies made it stick out of the fender so far it looked like the models from 70's called Zingers (I think). So make the the wheel has the right offset/backspacing.
