I'm interested in purchasing Borla multicore axle back #11784 for my 06 GT.. However Borla lists them only for the 2010 GT500.. Therefore by any chance were any changes made between 2009-2010 as far as the bend angles of the exhaust hangers and inlet pipes or are they exactly the same ? I was considering ATAK's, "S" type and Roush extreme axle backs, but for the type of sound quality I'm looking for, I'm now convinced the Borla 11784 multicores are my preference of choice.. My biggest concern though is will these fit/clear the rear bumper cutouts of a 2006 GT without any major adjustment changes involved.. In the meantime, any help would really be appreciated..

Yes, the 2010 changes how the axle backs mount, so they're not compatible with '05-09 GTs. The new bumper shape determined different sized/positioned mufflers and therefore different locations for hangers.

That said, a dremel, welder, and determination gets anything done, so... Good luck.

/I wouldn't, I'd find an '05-09 compatible muffler.

 

Just as I suspected all along.. At any rate, I've narrowed my choices to Borla multicore cat back # 140210 and Ford Performance FR500S.. Regarding the Borla cat back, the rep I spoke with from Borla confirmed that although the 140210 is designed for the 2007-09 Shelby GT500, he also confirmed from their engineering dept they will also fit the rear bumper section of the 2005-09 GT as well, as they're both considered as compatible.. Anyhow, I haven't made a final decision yet at this point as I'm still considering the pros and cons of each axle back
