So one of the big performance deals in the past with every car I've owned is people switching out to electric fans, reducing parasitic drag on the motor, much like the electric water pump. I've never heard anyone here talk about that with the 2005+ Mustang however. Any reason why or am I just the smartest Mustang owner ever?

Discuss...

Oh sure, get all technical on me.

Can you tell that I just assumed that the fan was connected to the pulleys and engine? No kidding huh? Electric fans from the factory? Whodathunkit

Well since changing to electric fans gives you 10HP, I'm going to claim it. Along with my Zaino slick paint for decreased wind resistance, higher air pressure in the tires to reduce drag, and the fact that I've lost 15 lbs, my car is good for about 397HP at the wheels now, right? Yeah but all the dirt under the car has offset your Zaino gain on top; I suggest you get under there and get busy with the Zaino

Based on your sig, you have had the car for over a year. Have you ever opened the hood and looked in there?? By the way, there is no distributor or carb in there either.

No carb? Crap. I wonder if I can get my money back on the 1050cfm Holley I just ordered. I really need to read an owners manual or something.

Yes I've been under the hood, just never looked at the stupid fan. I just assumed that like every other car from the factory that it wasn't electric. Public humiliation sucks.

Also might want to look at the return policy on that tunnel ram intake and billet distributor

Poor fella...

Well while we are here... Please recommend fan setting for me. I have the ability to adjust the the high and low in/out but I haven't touched them. Mine are at the stock settings. What are you guys doing?

I didn't change mine... just added a switch to be able to turn the fan on manually (for cooling down at the track).
