CAI and tune today!

I'm excited to report that I'm all set with my new CAI and tune. The CAI is a JLT I bought from Black Sunshine here on the forum- I like that it's black, since my car is legend lime with black stripes, interior, fuel door and trim. Goes w my color scheme.

The tune was done by Bama on an SCT 3. I gotta say I am really impressed with American Muscle. I ordered my tuner Tues, it was on my porch by Wed. Nite. I put the CAI on today... It even came with a nifty name plate.

I've still got a half a tank of 87 octane gas, so I flashed it to the Street tune. Wow. I scared myself pulling out of my parking place. I really can't imagine what the race tune is going to do - the difference in power, throttle response and firmness in shifting is impressive. I'm so glad I did this .

So yeah, happy happy

I currently have an old Bams chips 91 octane Torque tune on. I am going to use the Race tune probably, providing it is safe to use as a daily driver.

I've been happy with my Bama/American Muscle tunes as well.

I'm curious if you'll have the same experience with your JLT that I did. When I put my JLT II on with my Bama 93 torque/street tune, I was really impressed with the throttle response. The revs wouldn't "hang" after depressing the clutch to shift like the car did before the tune. However, I had some idle issues that cleaning the throttle body wouldn't fix.

I eventually swapped in an OEM '08 Bullitt intake and got new tune from Bama. Got was the idle issues but the revs started to "hang" again like the car did before the tunes. Kind of strange. Not that one is better than the other but interesting differences. The car seemed to run a bit more "aggressively" with the JLT and more "polished" with the bullitt intake.

So far no idle issues... My car had some carbon build up when in got in in early Sept - so I did a very, very thorough fuel system cleaning, but I was still considering switching out the throttle body. The tune has taken care of that issue though.
