If he does it right it'll be more like $25K, more or less the price of a new GT, then he can cut his losses and sell it for $15K. 
Here is my unsolicited opinion: a 2005 GT, add a CDC Shaker, some stipes, a flat black rear wing, a Borla catback and you have a better Mach 1.
