Out of eleven pages there is not much talk about v-6 mustangs racing other cars or being compared to them. I like to read about what our mustangs have beat, or have been beat by so start posting some follow ups. What do you think would win between a V-6 tiburon GT 3.8 vs. a v-6 stang.

 

auto vs auto ? manual vs manual ? with a good driver v6 stang with a stick would take the tiburon

It is auto vs. auto but the tib. has the option to be a stick.I raced it today actually. The tiburon beat me. He had his foot on the peddle to about 3500 RPM from the start but he woulda probably have won anyway. Its a farely light and quick car.

 

Remember though you're racing an older 3.8 versus a newer v6 tiburon right? Take a tiburon vs. the same year Mustang and I think the Stang would win.

Plus he did have weight on his side due to you having a vert also.

 

i don't like hundyai (however the &%^$ you spell em) at all...even if the mustang loses the race, its still the winner in my book

 

I've raced my friend's 03 tib and beat him. Well...it was a close race. I got about a fender length ahead of him. His car's got the manumatic and my v6 has an auto. Those things are pretty quick though when compared to a stock six stang.

 

You know whats interesting about the "manumatic" is that Hyundai actually bought specs from Porsche. Its basically the same thing as a Tiptronic. Gotta give them that.

 

No i raced plenty of v6 mustangs, well i think like 4 so not that many and i kept with them. Some kid at my trade school has a 04 coupe auto and had him even until we slowed down. So my year wasnt an issue, i actually beat a 1998 manual vert. to but he had age on me. The tiburon didnt kill me but he was a full car lenght ahead of me a 1/4 mile down the road he was able to cut in front of me. Mine and his cars are stock to. Buddy what do you have aftermarket on yours?

 

He has the 04' is the 03' the old body style and was it the GT? I hate tiburon i think only chiks should drive them no real man should. Everytime i see them i think how femonon they are. Although his blue one isn't that that bad

 

How did you keep up with an 04 v6 coupe if yours is a stock 95 vert?

In regards to my car:
Mine is completly bone stock. My friend's 03 Tiburon GT is stock as well. In fact when we raced, it was more of a drivers race than anything. BTW, you didn't mention what kind of Tib you raced. Was it the base GS model or the GT?

 

No 03-05 are the same body style and performance and yes it was a GT. I completely argree with you there about the Tib. It is still a Hyundai after all.

 

I thought i said it was a GT, and yea i kept with the 04' coupe and i was carrying my buddy and 2 10" audio bahns. The weight of my vert mighta been evened out by the 04's body style it looks like it is luggin a little bit more weight with some of the things they adde that mine has different. Such as the hood, mine does not have a winghis does, our doors and fenders are alot different my back bumber is smaller also i believe
