chevelle

bullitt.04567 Apr 29, 2012 12:14 AM

Chevelle I drove today mild 350 auto 90 MPH it pops and gotta let off. My 4.6 '01 with some minor add ons would just eat it up. I thought it would be so much more impressive. The nova has a 4 speed 350 and he brags it up?? Never been in it. Old school is not for me but enjoy looking at em....

I just like the body lines better

Early 70's nova was almost as bad as the mustang II. You can drop whatever motor you want in it and it still will only be worth the motor. Early 70's Chevelle on the other hand is a beautiful car. And you're right. 70's muscle cars were turds. Most of the 60's cars weren't much faster in stock form either.

70 Nova SS came with a big block or a small block and could be made pretty powerful, pretty easily. I don't think it's anything to laugh at necessarily but the power was only good for going in straight lines. 70 or 71 Malibu SS over Chevelle ftw though.. The motors in those model year Malibus = the sex..

Your talking about my first car in high school. 1968 Chevrolet Malibu. The 327 version. Not the 396 SS.

70 nova was ugly. Plain and simple. The big blocks were boat anchors. Big block Malibu was ok. I love the chevelles but fast they were not. Just like anything, they could be made fast but I wouldn't call a big block Nova Chevelle Malibu fast in stock form. Cool cars but tanks. The Nova was smaller and lighter but fugly.

That was a lot of seriousness and grandeur usage of some mighty big words there Al. :D

My thoughts also. The chevelle thus one is also a Malibu 68 has nice lines. The nova could have 2 more doors and get groceries. I still will take technology over old school but this is where it started to get what we have know so its all good!

Buddy of mine gutted his 70 Nova SS with a 350 and the thing hauled. Not the fastest car in the land but definitely not a pushover in the 1/4 mile. The Malibu SS was awesome lookin' and had an awesome power plant in big block form. You think those were ugly? Truth be told, my favorite car of the era was the Plymouth Superbird. :jester:
