Hood Struts
Which are the best hood struts for the 2020 Mustang, is it still Redline?
|
I like the ford pieces.... at lest for the stock look. I would bet the struts come from the same factory no matter who's brand you buy.

I kinda studied up on this in the past, never actually bought them, but the general concensus seemed to be that the "redline" hood struts are the best. On the earlier years (that I was interested in) there were some differences in the way they were mounted and the way that the windshield washer hose was routed, if I remember correctly. I am not sure if this applies to the 2015+ models, but pretty sure "redline" is still considered to be "the best"

I ordered the MMD kit and installed on our '08 in August '20. All I can say s it was an easy install, and they still work. They have a carbon fiber plastic tube on them for looks, were same price. I left the prop rod in place.

I have the Steeda units on my Steeda Mustang - no complaints. We have a lot of people running the Steeda units - if interested, feel free to use TJ10 at checkout for 10% savings on the Steeda units.

I really like my Roush hood struts on my 2014. They are working great without any issues. They are shorter/smaller than many of the others. Do not take as much room away for the fender engine bay access...
Not sure how they compare with the S550 kit, but below is a link. I would search the web for others offering if interested. Price direct seems a bit high. https://www.roushperformance.com/201...od-struts.html |
My only issue with the Ford Performance ones are the fender mounts. They don't fit into the slot very well and are prone to moving around.
