Dyno VS Track VS 1/4 Mile Numbers

What's more important to you, dyno numbers, track numbers, or 1/4 mile?

1/4 mile for sure , numbers mean nothing if you can't make the rubber meet the road

1/4 mile. who cares if you dyno 100rwhp if you ran 10's?

Kevin509 9/27/12 07:54 PM

1/4 mile time for sure. Like others have said, it doesn't matter if you have 1,000,000hp if you can't put any of it on the road. And don't even get me started on suicide tuning and dyno queens.

Depends on what sort of bench racing I'm trying to win. :heh:

1/4 mile

@2001gt 10/1/12 06:47 AM

1/4 definitely. I dont care what my car puts down on a dyno.

Casarez2125 10/1/12 09:58 AM

Alright, but when you show off your car to people, do you usually tell hem your hp and tq or 1/4 mile times?
Do you usually say "my car has 720hp" or "this is a ten-second car"?

Casarez2125 10/1/12 09:59 AM

And what about the track? Is it more important that your car massacres at the track or that it annihilates at the 1/4 mile?

MRGTX 11/1/12 05:59 AM

Of course, real world performance is the most important issue...but assuming the dyno is calibrated correctly and the car is driven competently, the two numbers are directly related.

So to say one is more important than the other is somewhat rediculous.
