2012 Track Pack or 2013 GT/CS

I've had my eye out for 2011+ GT mustangs for awhile now. The dealership that does my oil changes has two on the lot. One is a white 2012 Track pack premium for $22k. The other is a red 2013 GT/CS with nav for $26k. Both are one owner cars with just under 40k.

Kind of torn between the two. I haven't even started negotiating but I'm sure I can get both of them down in price. Also depends on what I can get for my trade in since I still owe. I love the 11-12 front end especiallyif you do the boss lower . But the CS is super nice too. I do like the 13+better. Not sure what to do.

In old now and look at it this way. I put together a mod list for the cars I am torn between. I buy the one with the cheaper list. If its stock vs stock for you, you should consider your use. I love the brembo brakes on my car. They have saved me from 2 accidents. That said, I plan to track my car. I would look at your plans and let that put me in the right car. Either way, I think you win. They are both great cars.

I'm with Mr. V, except I think rather than mod, focus on options first, then mods later. In the secondary market, most options become dirt cheap. There are tons of these cars out there, so you can be picky and buy a car that was equipped with everything you want from the factory... Or pretty close.

Decide on the year(s) you prefer (sounds like 2013-2014), download the order guide from that year and build it on paper. The ones that come in closest and cheapest without being destroyed win.

Also keep in mind there are certain options you probably shouldn't mod, like paint color, convertible, glass roof, Boss, Bullitt, Mach 1, GT500, GT-CS, etc. If these matter to you then place them higher on the list.

If it was me, as much as I love the 13 look (biased). I'd take the TP with less miles per year on it. Nav imo is worthless these days especially if it's a 6sp. Plus the 2012 in white was killer looking. And the 12 is $4k less in asking price. Should be able to get her under $20k.

I would keep my wheels from my car and put them on the new one. Mod list would be the same for both. Tuner, exhaust, intake, suspension. Although no exterior mods would be needed on CS.

I have the nav on mine. I love the touch screen but rarely use the nav itself. I also have the track apps which is a nice upgrade over the 11-12.

Decisions decisions...

The biggest thing is the I'm not a fan of red. That might be the deal breaker. If it was white of SGM I'd jump all over it.

Thats a tough choice. Some of the TP goodies are hard to pass up. I chose the base/tech package becouse when i bought mine i new i would be upgrading most of the stuff that the TP came with. I bought new, wheels/tires, Koni dampers/Steeda springs, 6 piston Brembo's, all upgrades compared to the TP stuff so i would have tossed out almost everything the TP came with anyway. The Torsen rear end i can do withought as i never track my car its a DD and i like my 331 gears. Ask yourself what the end goal for your car is and then you will know. Id go with the 13' and upgrade from there!
