Guy at work still running his mouth offering to bet $100 his car would beat mine. There is an industrial street that is really only an inlet to my work place no traffic between shifts). From a dead stop I'm only able to hit 80-90 before needing to slow down, so guessing it's a bit shorter than 1/4 mile.

So hypotheticly (sp?) do I have an oportunity to make an easy $100?

He knows very little about his car, I believe it is stock other than his chrome 20" wheels.
He has a 4 sp auto. No badging that I can see and stock appearing exhaust. Definately not a SS. I don't know enough about cameros to know if it has a ls1 or lt1, don't they have like 320hp?

My car is bone stock still.

I've just been smack talking back, it's not serious but I honestly don't know how fast his car is and I'd rather leave it to speculation, but it would be fun to show him up.

i know its not a 1999, but (i dunno much ab out Fbodies) i dont think there was a major change in the car. more well rounded car guys can confirm this for ya :P

....dang....thats fast. but i do doubt that the 20" wheels will help at all, if anything, it will make it heavier and slower. just a thought. and also, the car in the quote may have been a 6 speed. your buddy has a 4spd auto so it will prolly be about .1-.2 seconds slower, maybe more (though i doubt it)

 

Hmm, seems pretty close. Mustang on the book has the upper-hand, even if he had the 6spd
We know the Mustangs 5spd auto is great. And more than likely the Z28's 4spd is a POS. I think it'd be a bigger diff than about.2 seconds though. We barley get that with our 05 and our tranny's are great.
