Experiment. With street tires it might make sense to launch off idle, or maybe a little higher. It's very easy to just sit there and spin.

 

And the results are in... I suck a racing(and the fact that i failed to realize that my traction control was on) :-P best time of 14.108 @ 108MPH, against my friends time of 13.5. Either way i had a BLAST!!! and i will be going back this Wed night for Gateway's Test and Tune night.

 

Yea it takes practice ... Your car should hit 12.5 all day... You will get him... Lower your tire pressure and you will get there

True, practice does make perfect or atleast nearly perfect. Anyways today i void my warranty and add the Bama 93 Race tune to my car. =)

 

What were both of your 60' times and what was his trap speed? Glad that you had fun... that's what matters!

 

Should be able to launch well over 1k. My car with a really bad f/r wgt distribution and some lca relocators allowed me to launch at around 1800 rpm on street tires with just a light spin to clean them off.

If the track prep is really good, you'll be able to get even more aggressive, just watch which lane the faster cars run in, it might help in the same fashion to use that one.

 

So i finally beat my friend tonight and set a new best time of 13.167 @ 107.58MPH with a 2.073 60' time. He ran a 13.305 @ 110.72MPH with a 2.312 60'.

Get that 60' down and you'll easily be in the 12's over 110mph... Buuuuuuttt, if your buddy ever get's his traction problem's straightened out, by the looks of his MPH, he's got the faster car.

well part of the reason his trap speed was faster, was because I've been having issues shifting into 3rd gear during WoT. During that race i actually failed to hit 3rd and just ended up skipping it into 4th.

 

****, that sucks dude. It definitely killed your E/T and MPH not being able to hit 3rd.

 

Ya, It definitely did. I'm hoping that the MGW shifter that i have coming eventually will help fix the issue of getting into 3rd under WoT.
