Boss vs 2015 GT PP for HPDE's Which would you choose?
I know it's personal preference and it's your money so I was just passing along my thoughts . . . if it was my money, that's how I would spend it.
If you haven't already, check out user "csamsh" posts on allfordmustangs, he goes in to the disadvantages of the Boss in some depth and I can't do it justice.
If you're planing to keep it stock, I'd suggest the Boss even more so. Watch this comparo of the PP S550 vs the 1LE Camaro

Any one know a good Camaro Blog?

Actually, if you can get past the fugly looks, the gun-slit sight lines view out of the cockpit, and the awful interior, the 1LE performance is excellent for the money. But the Boss is way more special in every way, IMO.

I hit a fair amount of HPDE and rarely see 2015+ Mustangs. A good number of Boss and Boss 302s, and 5th gen GTs. I've talked with a few Boss owners at the track that have driven 6th gen cars, and they prefer their Boss. They cite the 2015 cars as "dull" and "too easy to drive". They like the visceral experience of the 5th gen car.
You don't even need to buy a Boss. Just get a 2012-2014 GT and put a few thousand into the suspension and brakes ( Ford Racing FR3 or Cortex come to mind) and you will have a good track car that is very streetable.
If you like the looks of the 6th gen car...well, then there is no hope. If you buy a 6th gen car, get a plain-Jane version, and put a great suspension on it.

Any chance you have links those threads? Doing some searching just now is not coming up with anything (really old threads?). There's a chance I'm going to be looking at a BOSS 302 Laguna Seca in a couple of months (I know the guy who owns it) but if they are problematic then maybe I'll just stick with my car.
I have the Boss 302 (non LS) with all the track options but I just couldn't bring myself to run it into the ground like my last track car. With 20-25 track days under your belt, you probably know how much damage they can take.
My answer was to get something comparable that I didn't care as much about. After much research, I found that I could pick up a fairly inexpensive track car in the 1LE.
It definitely out "handles" the Boss... but does it replace the weekend sunny day or Saturday night cruiser, heck no. The Boss is just too much fun and I would rather take that on an 8+hr drive for vacation somewhere and have the red key thrill when I get there. (Lopey idle
)I've been in the 15-16' gt with PP and it's like every other one. They are nice and have the creature comforts that would make it great for the average guy that doesn't want the "bare bones" feel that you get in the Boss. But if you can deal with the lack of a few of the comforts, want a car that will perform well at the track (not to mention the forged internals again with higher redline) and really want to set yourself apart from all the other cars around town, the Boss hits that mark.... very well.
Best of luck on your decision.
Lol, my wife mentioned something about the
part the day we brought home the 1LE and parked it next to the Boss in the garage.
I guess it's just a car guy kinda thing.... and a dirty little secret is that I wouldn't mind having a "Hello Kitty" sitting right next to them to complete the trifecta. Maybe one day.

If I hit the lotto, my brand loyalty would go out the window. I'd have one of everything I was interested in. It just so happens that if I'm spending my hard earned money, I feel that Ford has the best value and styling. That doesn't mean I don't respect other marques. Ford's compromises just happen to fit my rate of acceptance better than others' compromises.

Bossdog, that would be another BIG check mark in the column of pros for the Boss when making your decision between the two. (or three 1LE)

I liked the 5th gen Camaro, but I like 6th gen look even more. It looks "lighter" and more compact, while being very aggressive. The S550 in comparison looks wide and big ... in a Big Mouth Bass sort of way.
And I was just checking out the equipment list on the 2017 1LE. My car is paid off and I don't want to spend another $15k to upgrade to the 1LE, but WOW, the equipment list makes me
Good thing I have a whole new suspension setup waiting to be installed. That should even the odds against the LAST gen 1LE

Nuthin' but love, Dustin! I'm sure your 1LE handles and brakes like a demon!
