A day after BMW M3s swept the top five, the Ford Mustang GTs struck gold, grabbing the top four spots. Maxwell managed the quickest time in the afternoon, posting a time of 1:59.215 (107.503 mph) in the No. 16 Multimatic Motorsports Ford Mustang GT.

Overall, three different Mustang teams were in the top four. Todd Snyder turned the second fastest time in the No. 11 CMA Motorsports Ford Mustang GT, 1:59.710 (107.059 mph), the only other car under the two-minute mark. The defending championship-winning car, the No. 59 Belesta Ford Mustang GT from Rehagen Racing, was third, with Ken Wilden behind the wheel. Multimatic also claimed fourth with Gunnar Jeannette in the No. 71 Ford Mustang GT, while Joey Hand ended the Mustang's hot streak with Turner Motorsport's No. 97 BMW M3.

Hmmm. when looking at the timesheet from the testing session, the Multimatic cars are numbers 16 and 71, while number 15 is assigned to a Mazda in the ST class.

Did Multimatic go out with the wrong number on their car just so Ford could get a picture with the famous 15 on it?
Edit: Yes, they did. The above picture is linked to Multimatic on the GrandAm web site.

As I stated in the other thread, Thanks Marty! And this looks like the new 5.0 with racing intake, it is not the "old" Cammer . . . .

That looks like a Coyote with a tunnel ram intake manifold. Or could this be a "Road Runner" instead? I see a bunch of future FRPP catalog parts already.

I like that '70s style grill too. Anyone got video of this beast in action?

The Boss 302R doesn't have a strut tower brace? Or was it removed for photos.

What happened to the grill? Isn't that the Mustang GT's grill instead of the centered tri-bar pony that the media / press release car had?

SSK: With that tall manifold, I'm a-thinkin' a strut tower brace would notta fit.

FYI, the FR500C never ran a strut tower brace and kicked the crap out of the competition repeatedly.
