2014 Track Days - new tracks in East

For the few that are interested on this site, there is some good news for the east coast folks in regards to track days and venues. Three new tracks are opening up over the next 1.5 years or so...

Thompson speedway in Thompson, CT - new 1.7 mile road course opening by June, 2014! NASA and NEQ have dates at the track already Thompson Road Course

Club Motorsports in Tamworth, NH - under construction now, up in the white mountain area of NH. Looks to be a very cool course, 3.3 miles, brand new construction! Club Motorsports

Palmer Motorsports park in Palmer, MA - seems like this is finally re-started (been planned for years). 2.3 mile road course, brand new construction. Their current schedule shows potential opening in fall 2014... Palmer Motorsports Park

And then of course New York Safety Track opened this past season up towards Albany, NY (about 45 minutes west). It's a VERY turny course, but amazing pavement and beautiful area. New York Safety Track

Very promising for the New England folks who are into or are interested in getting into track days. With the increased competition (5 within 100 mile radius or so!) pricing should be pretty good and there will be A LOT of dates as well!

Anyways, just passing along the info. Hope some new folks make it out this season! Anyone who is interested PM me if you want more info.

Wow! That's great!

I have to start saving my vacation to come out that way and hit a couple of these courses over 2 weeks or so one summer

Yeah I'm kinda looking at doing the same sort of thing... Potentially targeting kicking off my season April 4th at NJMP, then immediately heading to Summit Point for April 5-6, and then seeing if there is anything at VIR or Road Atlanta maybe around April 7-10... make one big road trip adventure. Will be towing the car finally too, so will have plenty of storage space finally and can prep the car properly!

Can't wait... if only it wasn't mid December with snow falling right now!

Planning to hit Thompson with COM in late July and then again in Sept. I didn't think they were making much progress at Palmer yet. 2014? hmm. Well NYST looks cool. Who is running/ booking there?

Track time 4 cars ran a number of weekends at NYST last year and I am assuming they will do the same for 2014.

I'll believe Palmer when I see it but it finally sounds like it's moving along.

I think I'm most excited about the new NH track...

Not sure my schedule yet but will post when I get things sorted. Thompson is only 45 mins from my house which will be great

Closest I know of is summit point in WV. they have 3 circuits there. Also pocono and NJMP are probably your best bets. A bit of a drive

Carolina Motorsports Park is a good place to go as well. Not to far from my house in South Carolina. I never got to get out there but they have events quite a bit out there.
