wash the car more often than twice per year ... which seems to be about the best I can do lately, LOL

Pick-up one of these... It can save you and will help between those two washes a year.

Actually I only wash the car when it is really dirty. Hard water is not your friend. I typically do a dust off and then use Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Detailer to clean up the minor stuff.

Yes, This is my current method with the ceramic waxes but AFTER you lay down a base coat ceramic wax by hand. It's hard and time consuming but It's quite amazing how long the wax lasts. I've had no need to re-apply the base ceramic yet as the 'wax as you dry' ceramic works so well. I do have garage kept cars so I imagine a life outdoors will yield different results.

Interesting timing for this thread to appear again. After 15 months I felt the need to apply the ceramic wax by hand again on my R/T just two days ago. It was fine still but perhaps needing a fresh coat. It really pops again. I did the Mustang earlier but I drive it more often too and take it on trips. This hand applied ceramic wax is definitely working for me as far as longevity, using the ceramic spray wax in between. The only issue at times is smearing if too much product builds up, but a quick wipe down with a warm wet microfiber cloth cleans it up..
